April 2000 Operational Report
Projects:
1. Ready reference. ! have continued going through the ready reference card file and
updating cards and removing outdated cards. The next step will be to go through the
folder files in the drawer.
2. Heights Theater. ! am working on the Heights Theater Building memories contest and
also the parade float. We are still trying to come up with a slogan. ! have been in contact
with Dave Holmgren on a weekly basis and we are still brainstorming. ! accompanied
Dave to the Elmer Anderson Library at the University and we were able to look at the
original blueprints for the theater and the blueprints for the renovation done in 1936. We
were able to get the architects name and the actual date and we hope to find some more
information on the architect.
3. Baseboard in activity room. ! contacted Anderson's New Carpet Design about replacing
the baseboard in the activity room. They said that someone would call me to set up a time
to take measurements. No one called but someone did show up and take the
measurements. ! told him we wanted brown to match the north wall. He said that Brian
would contact me with the estimate and then we would schedule a time for installation.
Brian did call with an estimate and told me he would get back to me to schedule a time.
The next day, a man did show up unannounced and proceeded ripping out the old
baseboard and installing new black baseboard. ! stopped him when he was half done. !
contacted the main office and was told that they had black written on the order. ! argued
with Brian and Mark and told them that we needed brown put in. They told me they
would have to order that because they didn't have any in stock. They told me it would be
in on Monday. Two men came back on Tuesday and installed brown.
4. Peter Pan fund raiser. ! helped hand out bookmarks at the Heights Theatre for the Peter
Pan fund raiser. My nephews were dressed up as Peter Pan and Captain Hook and they
entertained the patrons waiting to purchase their tickets. ! attended the movie and really
enjoyed it.
5. Tax forms. ! took down the tax form display and recycled the left over tax forms.
6. Book sale donations. ! have been boxing up the donations and trying to keep the copy
room in the basement in somewhat of an order. We have received a lot of donations and
most of them have been newer books.
