The science fields have changed dramatically in recent years. This area need updating. We have discarded nearly 200 titles, due in large part to outdated information. III. Projects: A. Twilight Tales - Our first evening storytime (March 21 through April 11) will be hosted by Patty Wheeler Andrews. She plans on utilizing picture books, wordless books and chapter books to cover all ages and interest for families. Patty's background as a Children's Literature professor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College will be a great benefit to this program. Plans are underway for our first ever Puppeteers Workshop (tentatively scheduled for May 20). The Twin Cities Puppet Guild has expressed an interest in doing the workshop. We are in the process of working out the details. Plantin' Pals - We will be offering another new program in April entitled Plantin' Pals. This program will be offered twice daily on April 18 and 25 (10:00 A.M. for preschoolers and Kindergartners and 7:00 P.M. for kids grade 1-3). Master Gardeners will work with participants on a gardening activity following a short storytime related to planting and growing. Thanks to Master Gardener Jean Kuehn, Special Projects Coordinator for the City, for her help in locating Master Gardeners to partner this project. IV. Staff A. Kelly Olson, Clerk-Typist II, substituted for me during three storytime sessions this month while ! recuperated from surgery. Kelly also prepared promotional brochures, booklists, and posters for Volunteens, Plantin' Pals, Puppet Workshop, and Twilight Tales. She continues to work on weeding of the J600's, completed preparations for City annual report, and received one adult book order (best sellers). Kelly also attended two training sessions on the new communication software "Groupwise". Pages continue working on the J Fiction mending project and prepared materials for a Valentine craft project for use during storytime.
