Programs
A. FRIENDS: The Friends of the Library met at the library on Monday, January 3, with 10 members present.
Becky presented the wish list, and the Friends voted to purchase all of the items. The library update included
information on the number of books donated for Project Bookshelf, upcoming adult reading club, and annual
tax form distribution. Estelle Nelson, treasurer, presented the 1999 financial report. The Friends received a
thank you from Marilyn Peters of SACA thanking the Friends for their assistance at the annual holiday
distribution. The Friends will not meet in February while I'm on vacation; their next scheduled meeting is
Monday, March 6.
B. HOMEBOUND: I selected books and scheduled deliveries to four ~At Home Service" patrons.
C. BULK LOANS: I selected and processed books for two bulks which I delivered on Wednesday, January 5.
Collection Development
A. I did not work on collection development this month.
Projects and Goals
A. READING CLUB: During the month, I prepared materials for the library's 10th annual adult reading club, ~Catch
Millennium Fever, Reading 2000." This included designing and duplicating a reading log, registration form,
entry form and organizing these materials for distribution. A bulletin board promoting the reading club was
displayed and an article included in the January newsletter. The reading club will begin on Monday, January
31 and continue through March 25. Prizes will be awarded in a drawing held at the end of the club.
B. TAX FORMS: All tax forms and publications received were displayed on Monday, January 10. As of 1/25/00,
we have not received our entire order, and signs were posted to inform patrons of this. Signs were also posted
to help patrons locate the tax forms without asking the staff.
C. SCRAPBOOKS: All the scrapbooks have been labeled with dates.
D. MAGAZINE LABELS: All the Princeton files for magazines have been labeled to accommodate both the old and
new subscriptions.
E. BOOK DISPLAY: This month's book display features quartos or Big Books. This display has been popular with
our male patrons.
F. SUPPLY ORDER: Ordered video cases, audio cases, book covers and miscellaneous office and general supplies.
G. DATA SHEET: Prepared data sheet for the 1999 annual report.

Attended City Holiday Party on Wednesday, January 19.
Attended phone training on Thursday, January 20.
Pulled shelf list cards for books marked withdrawn.
Added books to the COH-NEW displays.
Prepared copy for the February library newsletter, duplicated newsletter, and sent it out to City and Library
staff.
Typed and duplicated Friends agenda and their annual financial report.
Displayed signs for the New Year's holiday and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Duplicated New York Times Best Seller List for distribution.
