FRIENDS: The Friends of the Library met at the library on Monday, December 6, at 1:00 p.m. with ten members present and shared holiday threats they had brought. They discussed Project Bookshelf, SACA holiday distribution, and the display case. They voted to purchase a new camera for use by the library staff. The wish list will be presented at their January meeting by Becky and Marsha. They asked to have their Friend's brochure sent out with the library newsletter so members would remember to renew their membership. B. HOMEBOUND: I selected books and other library items for three homebound patrons this month. C. BULK LOANS: I selected and processed books for the bulk loans to Parkview Villa and Heights Manor. They were delivered by Shari Briley. Collection Development A. All money in my budget for audio books has been spent. B. I labeled and filed all the items in the vertical file box and put away the microfilm. Many Rand McNally maps from the new Fodor's travel guides were added to the file and the subject headings Y2K and Multi-use Center Referendum added. Projects A. B. D. E. F. G. and Goals Photo albums: I completed placing all the photos in the albums and labeling them. Scrapbook: I completed clipping newspaper articles from the Northeaster and Focus and placing them in the scrapbook. The Holiday bulletin board ;'Warm Greetings" was displayed. The book display, ;;In the holiday spirit" (holiday cookbooks) was displayed. Pulled books for the January book display entitled ;;Big Books" (Quartos). Began promotional items for the adult reading club. Ordered Minnesota tax forms. Miscellaneous D. E. F. G. H. I. J. K. L. I attended the City ornament presentation at the Anoka County Historical Society on November 30. On Thursday, December 9, I represented the library at the annual Golden Age Club holiday luncheon held at Murzyn Hall. I filed and withdrew shelf list cards. Displayed signs for our holiday hours. Ordered and received supplies. Updated microfilm holdings list. Added books to the COH-NEW displays. Prepared copy for the January Sampler. Duplicated New York Times Best Seller List for distribution. Updated December budget list for general and office supplies. Typed and duplicated Friends agenda for the December meeting. Updated list of books delivered to homebound patrons. MMK/jms
