BUILDING MAINTENANCE
A. Public Works has discovered a hole in the north stairwell retaining wall.

A. Marsha met with Jack Kubitz 12/3 to review Children's Press books.
B. Year-end orders were processed.
EQUIPMENT
A. None.
PROGRAMS
A. Marsha and Shari staffed an informational booth about the library on 12/2 during Central
Middle School's parent/teacher conferences.
B. The Friends met 12/6 with 10 members present.
C. Six sessions of Holiday Stories and Crafts were held in December with a total attendance of
98 children and 45 adults.
D. The Library Board met 12/7 with four members in attendance.
E. 123 books were collected for Project Bookshelf.
F. About four boxes of toys were collected for Toys for Joy.
AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM
A. Library Support Services and Northtown had no power for most of the morning 12/16, so the
ACS was down throughout the County. Log-ins will be disabled 15 minutes after closing on
12/30.
STAFF
A. Becky attended the final Y2K meeting 12/7. Plans are in place for 12/31.
B. Becky and Marsha attended the Chamber luncheon 12/15. Members have voted to dissolve
the Columbia Heights Chamber of Commerce effective January, 2000.
C. Marsha participated in a Storytellers Meeting at Anoka County Library on 12/16.
D. Mary attended the Golden Age Club Holiday lunch on 12/16.
E. Library Supervisor Sheila Hatchell's last day on the staff was 12/27. Sheila had worked full-
time for MNDOT and part-time for Columbia Heights Public Library for eight years. She
accepted a new position as a cataloguer at the Minnesota Historical Society and will no longer
have time for a part-time job. The staff wishes her well in her new endeavors.
