Significant Accomplishments
A. The Friends met on 5/2 with six members present.
B. The Board met on 5/3 with all members present.
C. May Senior Citizen Filmtime was cancelled due to the construction project.
D. Three sessions of storytime on 5/9 and 5/10 had a total attendance of
54 children.
Departmental Goals
A. The library has three graduating seniors this year: Andy Nawrocki
(Columbia Heights High School), Nicole Rocek (Torino-Grace), and
Raquel Zamorano (Irondale). Ail three will be continuing their
educations at college in the fall.
B. Two new pages have been hired: Angela Jorgenson and Tina Kordiak.
Their training will start June 20.
C. On 5/3 Marsha participated in a writer visit at Highland Elementary
and got to have Nancy Carlson autograph the library's copies of her books.
D. Mary and the Friends worked at a booth at the City-wide open house
on 5/17. The Friends sponsored a mini-paperback booksale and did very well.
E. Becky attended a meeting on serials training.
Issues and Problems
A. There was a fire in a lighting relay box on 5/7. A temporary repair was
made on 5/10, and a replacement of the damaged contactor was done on 5/24.
B. The construction project is proceeding slowly. Substantial completion
is promised by 5/7.
