Significant Accomplishments
The Board met on 12/1 with all members present.
The Friends met on 12/7 with seven members present.
A special Holiday senior citizen program was presented on 12/9 to
42 people by the musical group, "The Notations."
Four sessions of pre-school Holiday crafts were held in December
with a total of 97 children participating.
Two sessions of Tiny Tots Holiday crafts were held in December with
a total of 71 children participating.
Departmental Goals
A. Two representatives from Honeywell met with Becky on 12/10 to go over
the new HVAC contract for the library.
B. Kelly completed her probationary period with the City on 12/1.
C. The full-time staff attended sexual harassment classes sponsored by
the City on 12/14 and 12/15.
D. Becky met with Joe Manion, librarian at Anoka County, on 12/28. Joe
is the the compact disc selector for the County Library, and they
have set up a procedure for coordinating music purchases.
E. The video re-labelling project is in full swing, and the pages are
making a terrific effort to meet the January 1 deadline.
Issues and Problems
A. A group of teen-age boys have been rowdy and disorderly on two occasions
during the month of December. The supervisors are aware of them and have
been dealing very well with the situation.
B. The adult reading room lost its heat on 12/26. Honeywell responded and
over the following days located and corrected the problem, which was
in the radiator sensors.
