On Friday, September 18, 1992, I attended the Minnesota Association of Friends
Conference at the Best Western Northwest Inn in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The
conference was attended by about 125 people from all over the state.
The conference included workshops, a luncheon with guest speaker, Jack
Weatherford, and displays set up by Friends groups from around the state. The
workshops I attended were: Lobbying for Libraries and Books Change Lives. I found
the displays very worthwhile because it gave me the opportunity to talk with other
Friends members about their successful fund raisers and projects.
I appreciate the opportunity to attend this conference and believe I have
returned with several ideas that can be used by the Friends of the Columbia Heights
Public Library.
