Significant Accomplishments
A. The Friends met on 5/4 with eight members present. Preparations are being
made for the annual book sale on June 4 and 5.
B. The Board met on 5/5 with four members present. Tom O'Connor and Marsha
Tubbs made a presentation on the Electronic Ready Reference project.
C. Thirty-eight senior citizens attended filmtime on 5/13.
Departmental Goals
A. Page interviews were held during May. Jodi Hanson, Traci Haselius, and
Nicole Rocek will begin training in June. Andy Nawrocki was hired as the
new choreperson.
B. The library has three graduating pages this year: Kimberly Briley, John
Otte, and Chris ?ayson. They will be honored at a breakfast in June.
C. Becky attended the quarterly meeting at Anoka County for the libraries
who share the automated circulation system. Planning for the online
catalog is complete and the implementation phase has been started.
Jo and Becky went to Bookmen, the library's paperback supplier, on 5/8.
The library's 1993 budget proposal has been completed.
The carpeting project was approved at the 5/11 City Council meeting. Plans
are progressing for this gigantic undertaking.
Issues and Problems
A. On 5/11 the thermostat on the air conditioning unit in the East Room had
to be adjusted by Minnegasco.
B. On 5/12 a child fell from a stool while drinking from a water fountain.
