I. Significant Accomplishments
A. The library staff served as judges for the Fire Departments' poster contest
in October.
B. The Library Board met with the City Council 10/16 to discuss the 1991
proposed library budget.
C. The Friends have voted to purchase the following items for the library:
unabridged dictionary, Grove's Dictionary of American Music, juvenile
atlas, puppet, two silk plants, crib, and several storyhour aides.
D. Two Headstart fieidtrips were held in October with a total of 34 attending.
E. Twelve sessions of pre-school programs were held with a total attendance of 310.
II. Departmental Goals
A. The adult reading room has been painted.
B. The fax machine has been installed.
C. The landscaping project has been completed.
D. Jeanine and Mary Cooper attended the Municipals Banquet on 10/25.
E. Bids for re-carpeting the brown room and the boardroom were opened 11/1.
F. Jeanine S~hmidt celebrated her fourth anniversary with the library 11/3/90.
Issues and Problems
A. The exterior lights on the north side of the building have all been
connected to a photocell. This includes the flagpole lights.
B. On 10/22 a man attempted to steal a book. He was caught by staff when
the security system was set off.
