Rebecca Loader, Library Director ~ Operational report #31 (Sept. 15-Sept. 29, 1990) September 28, 1990 II. III. Significant Accomplishments A. The carpeting in the library was cleaned September 15. B. 2.1 version of the software for the automated circulation system was loaded into the computer September 15. The new enhancements are limited in their impact on day-to-day operations, but the maintenance files have been re-organized. C. On September 19 Becky had the opportunity to meet with the Council on the proposed 1991 budget. The joint Board/Council meeting is scheduled for October 16. D. Jo and Becky went to Bookmen, the library's paperback supplier, on September 26 for their semi-annual buying trip. Departmental Goals A. The new telephone conduit has been laid (9/14 & 9/17). B. The painting and shelving proposals were approved at the 9/24 CitY Council meeting. The paperwork has been processed, and schedules are being arranged. C. Becky continues to meet with representatives for landscaping, fax machines, furniture, and carpeting. These projects are all in the 1990 budget. Issues and Problems A. The flagpole lights were adjusted again on 9/27. The timer is set so they come on at 6:30 p.m. and go off at 7:00 a.m. B. On 9/26 a woman claiming to be withdrawing "cold turkey" from narcotics addiction created a disturbance in the lobby of the library. Staff appreciated the prompt response to our 911 call for assistance.
