Rebecca Loader, Library Director T~~ Operational Report #22 (May 7-May 18, 1990) May 18, 1990 Significant Accomplishments A. The Friends met on 5/7 with 10 members present. They are getting ready for the 13th annual booksale on June 7 and June 8. On 5/8 the eighth grade class from Immaculate Conception School came to the library for a research project. 37 people attended the 5/9 senior citizen program. On 5/11Svea Smith brought 10 of her students (English as a second language) to the library for instruction on how to use the fiche catalog. Bo Departmental Goals A. Ten interviews were held for the five vacant page positions. Denise Abraham, Sharee Gustason, Teresa Guzik, and Michael Lipski were hired. Their training will start June 8. On 5/11 the pages met to negotiate summer schedule. Summer schedule will start on June 11. Part-time library supervisor Rhonda Lorenz has accepted a full-time position with Rochester Public Library. Her last day will be May 24. Substitute Jane Baker will be working her hours. Issues and Problems A. The library received two obscene phone calls on 5/5. Two branches of the Anoka County Library received similar calls. B. On 5/14 there was a leak in the lobby by the air conditioning unit. The appropriate people were notified.
