Significant Accomplishments
A. The library's annual report was submitted to the City on 2/20.
The report due to the State will be submitted 3/15/90.
B. Eight sessions of pre-school story hour were held with a total
of 230 participants.
C. Digital performed regular scheduled maintenance on the computer
system on 2/21.
D. The new video towers were assembled and installed in the adult
reading room. As the videos' labels are changed, they will be
rotated into the new towers. The old video shelving was transferred
to the City Manager's office for use in the Recycling Coordinator's
office.
E. The Friends made Easter decorations for the Children's Room on 2/26.
Departmental Goals
A. Jeanine attended a computer users' group meeting for the libraries
in Anoka County on 2/22. She presented changes coming to the system
to staff at the weekly staff meeting.
B. Eight page performance evaluations were conducted.
C. The loan period for videos changed on March 1. Ail 24-hour videos
became 48-hour videos, and all 48-hour videos became 7-day videos.
This required changing labels and color codes on each video.
Issues and Problems
A. The automated circulation system suffered a hardware failure on 2/28.
Since the system was installed in October of 1986, this is the first
hardware failure the library has experienced. Digital had the problem
fixed within an hour.
