Rebecca Loader, Library Director SUBJECT: Operational Report #15 (January 15-January 26, 1990) DATE: January 26, 1990 I. Significant accomplishments A. The capital improvement plan for the library for 1991-1995 was completed and submitted to the City Manager. B. Six loveseats and six endtables were received 1/19. These items were purchased by the Boosters and were installed in the adult reading room. C. On 1/22 the broken window on the east side of the building was replaced. D. On 1/22 a children's literature class from Anoka-Ramsey Community College toured the library's children's collection. II. Departmental goals A. The Friends worked on the re-labelling project. B. Becky attended a meeting on 1/24 of a task force to find a new site for the ABE classes held in Columbia Heights. Due to tight scheduling for rooms, the library will no longer be able to accommodate the ABE classes for school year 1990-1991. C. TKDA conducted the final inspection 1/25 for the remodelling project. D. Jeanine Schmidt and Mary Cooper will attend the winter Municipals seminar on 1/31. The subject of the seminar is: "Working Effectively with the Public". Cost is $27 each. III. Issues and problems A. A shelf in the upstairs workroom pulled away from the wall on 1/25. It has been repaired.
