U.S. West re-strung the frame relay cables coming into the building on 2/7 so that they are supported off the roof by the new mast. B. A toilet on the main floor overflowed on 2/8 and was repaired by Public Works. C. The roof leaked in the East Room on 2/10 and 2/20. D. Public Works plugged the leak around the phone conduit in the boiler room on 2/21. COLLECTION A. Two video orders, one of feature films and one of informational films, were placed. B. The 600-610's were weeded. EQUIPMENT A. The new server for the City computer network was installed. Upgrades to the department's PC's are in progress. B. The hot water heater went out of service on 2/18. Honeywell covered its replacement and installed a new 50 gallon heater on 2/19. PROGRAMS A. The Friends met 2/3 with 7 members present. B. The Board met on 2/3 with 4 members present. C. Nine sessions of pre-school storytime were held with a total attendance of 161 children and 64 adults. Due to Marsha's absence, the remaining sessions were canceled. D. WCCO's Pat Kessler did a story on the Anoka County Historical Society's display of the Lincoln Funeral Coach at the library. Staff received a-lot of feedback, and the show generated many visitors to the display. E. Reading clubs started 2/24. AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM A. The frame relay circuit fluctuated up and down during thee month. Two days were especially bad for response on the system. STAFF A. Becky, Jeanine, and Kelly attended computer training on Windows 95 and WordPerfect 7. B. Marsha fell on 2/5 and injured her left foot. She had surgery on 2/11. Her return-to- work date has not been determined. C. Karl Kyle was hired as a new page. H(~r training started 2/13. D. Kelly and Mary attended a Safety Committee training session on 2/26. E. Jeanine participated in a cable shoot and an Information Management Meeting on 2/27. VII. VIII IX. MISC A. Debra Patrin, IRS employee, started volunteering 4 hours per week at the library on 2/8. She will be maintaining the form racks. B. The City version of the library annual report was submitted. Special recognition goes to all the staff members who have pitched in and done service above and beyond the call of duty after Marsha's injury. Kelly conducted seven storytimes and prepared the materials for the children's reading cub in addition to her own job duties.
