As a result, the Library will receive grant funds for additional programming over the next two years. The exact amount of the funding is unknown at this time. We are awaiting official budget notification from the State of Minnesota. Michael Dahl's visit during Teen Read Week was provided through CHASE grant funds. B. The Children's Department processed the first bulk loans to schools this month and delivered them on October 7. Delivery and selection went smoothly. Reports from the teachers and classes have been positive. IV Staff A. MAT/k jo Kelly Olson, Clerk-Typist II, implemented QuarkXPress in the publication of the September and October Library Sampler newsletter, she aided Children's Librarian in the weeding of J Non-Fiction, and in processing bulk loans for area schools. Due to staff shortages and a staff medical leave, Kelly stepped in to cover the operations of the Children's Department in the Children's Librarian's absence during the times when Marsha staffed the adult reference desk. Thanks to Kelly for the additional efforts put forth this month. Pages: The Children's Department is still short one page most days of the week. The pages have been busy shelving, shelf reading and covering the circulation desk. We began a J Fiction mending project this month and have progressed through J Fic Bur.
