OCTOBER
Programs
A. FRIENDS: The Friends of the Library met for a dinner meeting at the Keys Restaurant on Monday, October 4.
It was well attended with fourteen members present. After my return to work, I met with Friends' president,
Nancy Rathbun on Wednesday, October 27. We discussed Project Bookshelf, Friends' membership list,
volunteering at the SACA holiday distribution, treasury report, and agenda for November's meeting. The
Friends next meeting will be at the library on Monday, November 1 at 1:00 p.m. There was a problem with
the dues accepted during the book sale presale. Estelle thought she had not received the money. The dues from
new members who joined at the presale was counted as presale ticket money because a $5.00 ticket was
included with each new membership.
B. HOMEBOUND: During October, Becky Astor Meiers, one of my homebound patrons died. Her books were
returned to the Minneapolis Public Library and picked up by David Briley. During my sick leave, all
homebound deliveries were handled by Shari Briley.
C. BULK LOANS: The October bulk loan to Parkview Villa and Heights Manor was prepared and delivered by
Shari Briley.
