Rebecca Loader, Library Director May operational report May26,1999 BUILDING MAINTENANCE A. The building roof has had NO LEAKS in spite of all the rain. COLLECTION A. The large prim rotation with the County Library was shifted 5/26. B. A large shipment of items related to the first-half of the adult 600's has been received and entered into the collection. EQUIPMENT A. The print function of the microform reader/printer had to be repaired 5/13. PROGRAMS A. The Friends met 5/3 with ten members present. Mr. Keith Windschitl, Recreation Director, gave a presentation on the proposed community center. B. The Board met 5/4 with four members in attendance. Mr. Keith Windschitl, Recreation Director, gave a presentation on the proposed community center. C. Mary delivered bulk loans to the Senior Citizen facilities 5/5. D. Marsha conducted pre-school field trips on 5/4, 5/10, and 5/12. E. Marsha visited the elementary schools to tell stories and publicize summer programs at the Library 5/20 (Valley View), 5/26 (North Park), and 5/28 (Highland). F. The Friends sold preview tickets for the booksale 5/26. AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM A. No changes to the automated circulation system were made in May. STAFF A. B. C. Becky participated in the Design Teams' return visit to the City on 5/1. Becky participated in a goals-setting session 5/3 with the City Council and staff. Becky conducted a workshop 5/8 for the Library Supervisors on ILL, magazine requests, and internet searches. Becky received training on the AS400 (the City's financial system) and accessing the Library's records through the computer network. Shari, Kelly, and Becky received CPR training on 5/12 and 5/13. Interviews for the vacant page positions were held 5/12. Because so few applications were received, ads were placed in the Focus and Northeaster and the deadline to apply was extended to 5/28. VII. VIII IX J. K. L. M. N. O. P. Q. Becky attended the Anoka County Library Public Service Meeting 5/13. Becky participated in a meeting 5/14 to write specs for the HVAC contract and to discuss going out to bid on the cleaning contract. Kelly attended the Prom at Crestview 5/14 as the Library's representative. The page meeting to negotiate summer schedule was held 5/17. Becky participated in an Oversight Committee meeting on 5/18. Shari took WordPerfect II classes on 5/19 and 5/20. The volunteens met with Marsha and Kelly 5/19 to arrange summer schedule. Kelly celebrated her seventh anniversary of working at the Library. Becky attended a Y2K meeting at the City on 5/20. Jeanine participated in a cable shoot on 5/25. Mary attended a luncheon sponsored by the Immaculate Conception School Board 5/27. MISC A.
