The children's department started the winter session of story hour with 59 registered in
the sections for 3% - 5 year olds and 26 registered in the section for 2% - 3% year
olds. The second month of Daycare Story hour drew 54 participants on February 8.
Thanks go to Marie Eng, Pauline Rusinyak, Aileen Sturdevant, & Lee Wilke for the cherry
chip cupcakes they baked for the February senior citizen program. Thanks also
to these same ladies for helping to serve.
Columbia Heights VFW Post 230 Auxiliary donated two books (Christopher Robbins' Th__~e
Ravens & The Wall) to the library on February 25. Thanks to this organization and
its two representatives, Donna Payne & Sharon Schmeda, who made the presentation.
The Friends have been working on two service projects at the library over the month
of February. They are re-labelling those books with incorrect cutters on the spines
and presenting a Saturday Storytime. They have put in many hours of work on these
projects. Thank-you, ladies!
Gary Nygaard, Library Supervisor~ has resigned due to a busy schedule. Gary has worked
for the library since 1974, and the staff wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
