Rebecca Loader, Library Director SUBJECT: Operational Report #13 (December 18-December 29, 1989) DATE: December 29, 1989 Significant accomplishments A. Three sessions of Christmas crafts were held on December 19, 20, and 21 with a total of 57 participants. Departmental goals A. On 12/19 the old paint room was cleaned up. Usable paint was given to the Park Department, and all miscellaneous paint was disposed of according to correct procedures. B. On 12/19 the toys from the library's Toys for Joy depot were picked up for distribution. The response was wonderful again this year with a wide variety of toys and age groups represented. C. Evening supervisor Thomas O'Connor competed for a position on the Minneapolis Public Library Board of Trustees and was notified of his selection. Thomas is a full-time employee of U.S. West and works part-time for the library. Congratulations are extended to him for this honor. D. As the remodeling draws to a close, the pages worked very hard to move ~ the books to their new locations on the shelving. Labeling the new locations will be their next project. E. The library's follow-up survey on the Saturday hours project will be completed on 12/30. Results will be tabulated during the first week in January. F. The ceiling in the adult reading room will be re-sealed and painted the week-end of 12/30. Issues and problems A. None.
