Significant accomplishments
A. The Friends met 10/2 with 15 people in attendance.
B. On 10/11 the library hosted a Chautauqua program entitled "River
Ramblings" with 70 people in the audience. The Chautauqua program
was made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Association of Library
Friends in conjunction with the Minnesota Humanities Commission and the
National Endowment to the Humanities.
46 children attended the Daycare Storytime on 10/9.
Four sessions of preschool storytime were held on ]0/2 (31 kids),
10/4 (32), 10/10 (32), and 10/1l (33). Four sessions of Tiny Tots
were held with a total of 78 children and 65 adults participating.
The Library Board met on 10/3.
Departmental goals
A. Nearly 300 responses have been tabulated for the survey conducted
during the month of September. The results will be finalized soon.
B. Jeanine attended a telephone seminar on 10/11,
C.~ The biggest project at the library right now concerns shifting the
collection into the new shelving. The pages have been working about
one hour per day at moving books. The magazines will be moved next
week and the card catalog will be shut down.
