Rebecca Loader, Library Director SUBJECT: Operational Report #6 (September 4-15) DATE: September 15, 1989 Co Significant accomplishments A. Board of Trustees meeting on September 5. B. Jo and Becky went to Bookmen, the library's paperback distributor, on the eleventh. They selected paperbacks, pasteboard books, and a few reference materials. The Friends met on the eleventh with 20 members in attendance. The senior citizen program on the 13th had 60 people in attendance. The Friends' annual salad luncheon was on the 14th. They served approximately 250 people and offered hand-crafted items for raffle. Mary and Becky went to Musicland on the 15th to select new audio cassettes, records, and compact discs. Mary Kloss celebrated eleven years of service to the library on September 5. Departmental goals A. The construction project is progressing. Bo Co There are still some items to be completed. The new shelving was installed on the 7th and the periodical storage cases will arrive the week of October 8. Hopefully, the entire project will be complete by the end of December. The library's experimental Saturday hours started September 9. Statistics are being kept on an hourly basis for comparison and for pinpointing peak use times. The survey, which started September 5, has received a good response and should be useful as a measurement tool. All the cable videos are complete. The broadcast schedule will resume on September 18. Issues and problems A. The Gestetner machine on loan is being evaluated by the staff.
