These increases are delightful to the staff'and are indicative of a lot of hard work and effort.
The children's department has been busy with school classes, pre-school storyhours, and
field trips. Planning for the Christmas crates and holiday programs has also been occurring.
Thanks go to Lucille McFail, Delight Olson, Macile Reinholdson, and Madge Sandgren
for the pumpkin cakes they baked for the November senior citizen program. Thanks also go the
Lucille McFail, Delight Olson, Evelyn Reinholdson, Macile Reinholdson, and Madge Sandgren for
helping to serve. Our special guest, Imen Parsons, spoke about Columbia Heights and the
process of writing her book, Columbia Heights:. Bootstrap Town. Thanks for a great job, Irene.
Because of the automation project, the staffhas spent a lot of time barcoding materials
and registering patrons. During December, conversion will be the staff's number one priority, and
any people interested in volunteering time to help out should call Becky at 788-3924 to sign up.
The permanent plastic cards will be mailed out starting January 1, 1987.
The staff wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
