The winter sessions of pre-school story hour have started with 70 children in
the 3%-5 year-old group and 23 in the 2~-3% year-old group. Jo is maintaining
a waiting list of interested people if there are any openings.
Thanks go to Marie Eng, Faye Kluk, Pat Jindra, and Lee Wilke for the raspberry
poke cake they baked for the February senior citizen program. Thanks also
go to Marie Eng, Faye Kluk, Kay Reiners~ and Lee Wilke for helping to serve
and to Evelyn Reinholdson, Senior Citizen Film Time Coordinator.
Gloria and Peg attended the winter Municipals workshop on communication at
the Earl Browne Center. They were impressed by Kathryn Barrington, the
featured speaker, and came away with many new concepts and ideas. Becky and
Mary spent some hard hours compiling facts and figures for the 1985 annual
report, but are pleased to say that there are now 17,230 registered borrowers
at the Columbia Heights Public Library. The annual report for the entire city
will be on file at the library by mid-March.
The staff, which is bombarded with tax-related questions at this time of year,
participated in a survey about the public library program requested by the
IRS, and hopefully, the results will give us all some much-needed relief from
this added burden. The annual meeting of the City's Quality Circles program
was held, and new co-facilitators Denise De~ars and Klm Moravick gave a report
on their plans for re-vitalizing the program.
