The Children's Department has successfully completed the fall sessions of
pre-school story hour. Lasting eight weeks, the sessions had a total of
105 children registered. Jo also put on four special field trip programs
for a Head Start group and two nursery schools. The new Parenting Packs
will be ready for checking-out at the first of the year and will be useful
in providing materials for parent-child interactions on specific subject
areas. As the cold and flu season descends, the demand for Get-Well Packs,
which are available in three age-group ranges, will be rising.
Thanks to the Friends of the Library for providing the crackers, cheese,
and salami treat for the November senior citizen program. Thanks also go
to Madge Sandgren, Aileen Sturdevant, and Lee Wilke for helping to serve.
REMINDER TO ALL FRIENDS:
December 11 is the annual Christmas program for the senior
citizens at the library. The tradition of serving homemade
bars and cookies will be observed again this year, and
the Friends are asking all members to donate two dozen
of their favorites for the program. Please have all
goodies to the library by 1:30 p.m. on December 11.
