Thanks also go to Estelle Ne]son, Kay Reiners~ Stel~ Rose~b~adge Sandgren, and Ruth Westerberg for helping to serve. The special program~ "To a New Land~ by John Berquist was presented at the library as part of the 1985 Minnesota Chautauqua. Funding was made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Humanities Commission in cooperation with the Minnesota Association of Library Friends. October 27 marked the passing into another life of a life-long friend and supporter of the Columbia Heights P~blic Library. Ruth Russell Miller served on the Library Board for 30 years and was an active member of the Friends. Always looking for ways to expand the collection and library services~ Ruth provided hearty vocal support in the political process which is an important part of a public library. Her humor and thoughtfulness will be missed.
