Summer programming is in full swing in the. children's department. On July 2,
92 celebrants joined in the first-ever "Everybody's Birthday Party." On July 8, Miss
Jo entertained 12 pre-schoolers on a field trip. Eighty-seven children watched the
film "Pippi Goes on board" July 9, and 145 children attended the 3-week long filmstrip
programs on Thursday afternoons. On July 16, 92 participants made memo-holders out
of popsicle sticks. 90 children enjoyed a special puppet show on July 23, and the
Reading Club parties on the 3Oth drew a total audience of 140.
Thanks go to Gladyce Ballingrud, Lucille McFail, JoAnn Nelson, Macile Reinholdson, and
Mary Wahto for the rhubarb bars they baked for the July senior citizen program. Thanks
also go to Gladyce Ballingrud, LeeAnn Bocwinski, Marie Burgoyne, Lucille McFail, and
Macile Reinholdson for helping to serve.
Welcome to the library's new pages, who are replacing our graduating seniors. Under
the tutleage of library supervisor Marsha Tubbs, they have received four weeks of
training and will be ready to assume regular page responsibilities when fall schedule
starts. Please say hello to:

The library is honored to have Miss Jo participating in a staff exchange program with
Hennepin County Library for two weeks in August. Mrs. Ruth Harris, from the
St. Anthony Library, will be working in Miss Jo's place and will be doing some special
programs for children. Be sure to stop in and greet Ruth from August 5 to 16th in the
children's department.
Reminder to all Friends of the Library: Ail homecrafted items for the raffle are to
be at the library by 1:00 P.M. on Monday, September 9.
