Based on a month with 22 working days, this means that the staff answered 76.13 reference~ 9.9 directional A, and .59 directional B questions per day. The circulation for the sura~er Book Bus schedule includes: June 22 481 June 29 365 July 6 505 July 13 394 July 20 308 July 27 245 2~298 total items 1983 marked the fourth successful year for the Book Bus, Thanks go to Jo, Ed Geslin, John Tiggas, Iiary~ Darlene, Gloria, Dale, and the pages for making it work° The Children's Department has had a very busy summer. Reading Club partici- pants have included: 280 Frog & Toad Read-to-k4e (Pre-school) 234 Reading Roulette (Advanced) 183 Frogger (Beginning) 6~'~ Total The four weeks of July included four filmstrip programs which entertained a total audience of 167 children. A cartoon festival on the 19th drew 41 viewers and a pet show on the 12th displayed 53 pets to an audience of approx- imately 1OO. Eleven girls made ceramic dolls during the classes on Wednesdays and 102 brave souls ventured through the haunted house on Spook Day. The Book Bus has finished its summer schedule and preparations for the Reading Club parties are in full swing. Thanks go to Helen Merrick and Pauline Rusinyak for the poppyseed bundt cakes they baked for the July senior citizens' program. Thanks also go to Helen Uerrick~ Aileen Sturdevant, and Ruth Westerberg for helping to serve. On August 18 and 19, the annual book sale will be held at the library. Dona- tions of your old unwanted books, magazines~ etc. to this sale are welcome and are all tax deductible. ~.~aterials will be accepted at the main circula- tion desk during regular library hours up until the day of the sale. The library will be hosting a luncheon in honor of the Friends on August 24~ 1983, at noon. Please make sure you have responded to your invitation by August 15th.
