Based on a month with 25 working days, this means that the staff answered 65.04 reference, 12.6 direc- tional A, and ].72 directional B questions per day. The children's department already has 128 registrants in the "E.T. Read to Me Club" and registrations are still being taken. Seventy 3~-to 5-year-olds are participating in storyhour, and thirty-six 2~-to 3~-year-olds are enrolled in Tiny Tots. On February 9, ten enthusiastic children made valentines in a workshop. Thanks go to Connie Carlson, .Jane Polley, Nancy Rathbun, and Kay Reiners for the cherry streusel bars they baked lot the February senior citizen program. Thanks also go to Ruth Miller and Kay Reiners for helping to serve. There is a new exhibit by John Hemak on the Lincoln funeral coach in the library's main floor display case. The entries in the Recrea- tion Commission's spring brochure cover contest will be on display in the children's department throughout the month of March. Harriet Deeble, former Columbia lleights Public Library director, is recuperating from surgery at her daughter's home. The staff wishes her a speedy recovery.
