HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 4, 1983COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT January 4, 1983 Circulation for the month of November is up from 1981: 1981 1982 Adult 5,120 6,056 Juvenile 3,513 4,671 8,633 10,727 LIBGIS statistics for November include 1,385 reference, 259 directional A and 38 directional B questions. Based on a month with 24 working days, this means that the staff answered 57.7 reference, 10.79 directional A, and 1.58 directional B per day. The children's department sponsored two sessions of Christmas crafts for elementary-age children and two sessions for pre-schoolers, with 86 and 94 participants respectively. Christmas crafts for Tiny Tots, held on December 16, had 28 participants. The movie "Superman II" was shown to 480 eager viewers on December 20. Thanks go to all the friends of the Library for the fabulous cookies and bars they baked for the December senior citizen program. Thanks also go to Marie Eng, Ruth Miller, Pauline Rusinyak, Madge Sandgren, and Aileen Sturdevant for helping to serve and to Mr. Paul Christiansen's bellringers from First Lutheran Church for their wonderful program. Mr. Terry Lovaas video-taped that program for broadcast on Group W Cable in Hilltop/Columbia Heights, and it may be seen on Channel 3. The process of moving everything around is slowly progressing. The staff wishes everyone a happy new year.
