working days, this means that the staff answered 45.52 reference,
9.64 directional A~ and 1.56 directional B questimns per day.
The Children's Department celebrated National Children's Book Week
~ovember 15-19~ with the theme~ ~'Books are Big ~un.~' A helium-filled
balloon was given to each child who came into the library, and two
special field trips were hosted for the nursery schools. The staff
wore special sweatshirts and jeans on [~onda]~, and to our chagrin~
very few of the patrons noticed our unusual apparel. A cartoon
festival was held on the day after Thanksgiving to enable parents
to do some unaccompanied Christmas shopping,
Thanks go to Gladyce Ballingrud, ilarriet Deeble~ JoAnn Nelson, and
Jane Polley for the chocolate chip bundt cakes they baked for the
November senior citizen program. Thanks also go to Ruth Hiller,
JoAnn Nelson, and Jane Polley for helping ~o serve. The Christmas
celebration on December $ will feature the bellringers from First
Lutheran Church and will be video-taped for broadcast on local cable
television.
()ur special thsnks go to the Friends of the Library for the new
16mm Bell & !lowell projector and the additional section for the
paperback rack which they have so kindly donated to the library.
iJe all appreciate your continued supoort ~or quality library service
in the community.
The staff extends our best wishes to yo~ all for a happy holiday
season.
