Based on a month with 22 working days, this means that tile staff answered 47.36 refer- ence~ 6.86 directional A, and .5 directional B questions per day. The children's department is preparing for the start of pre-school story hour in October and has 130 children registered for the three different sections. An art class for youth is being offered on Tuesday nights with an instructor from the l{useum of Art. Also~ the classes from Immaculate Conception School have started their scheduled visits at the library for another year. Thanks go to Marie Hanson~ Ellen Rosenthal~ and Marcie Schlaeger for the sundae brownies they baked for the September senior citizen program, Thanks also go to ~arie Hansen~ Euth ~iiller, and Ellen Rosenthal for helping to serve. The Friends sponsored a salad luncheon and raffle on September 30 at the Field House. The food was delicious, and the handmade raffle items were gorgeous. Great job~ ladies and gentleraan! The GED classes will be bald at the library again this year, but will not start until the week of October 4. Classes will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays~ and registration may be arranged by calling 7d8-1697.
