LIBGIS statistics included 1,363 ref~1'607 26~1~443 ' fence, directional A, and 61 directional B questions for the month. Based on 27 working days in March, this meant that the staff answered 50.48 reference, 9.74 directional A, and 2.26 directional B questions per day. The children's department presented three weeks of preschool crafts and two weeks of Tiny Tot~ crafts, i~in~no~ _month, with 60 preschooler§ and 44 Tiny Tots.p~rti- County Day Eare ~ccoc~at~on s meeting a~ the llDrary c~pat~ng, oo ~oste~ on the 20th and gave a domonstration on storytelling, flannel boards, and children's literature for the interested members. Preparations for summer programs have also been begun, and it looks like a very busy summer. Thanks go to Rita Norberg~ Kay Reiners~ and Ruth Westerberg for the lemon poppyseed bundt cakes they baked for the April senior citizen program. Thanks also go to Rita Norberg, Ruth ~{iller, and Ruth Westerberg for helping to serve refreshments. The library sponsored a demonstration on the electronic Olivetti 221 typewriter for eight interested secretaries from the City on April 20th. Darlene put together the program and deserves all the credit for a successful demonstration. Darlene and Gloria have learned to use the machine on their own and also deserve commendation for mastering a new skill. ~{ary and Becky took a trip to Discount Records on April 2, and the new records are listed in the most recent edition of The Sampler.
