The Children's department held two sessions of Christmas crafts for elementary-age children with 45-50 attending each session. Two sessions were held for pre-schoolers with about 25 attending each session. During Christmas week a program of stories about the winter holidays was held for elementary-age children with an audience of about 30. Thanks go to all the Friends of the Library for the many dozens of cookies and bars they baked for the senior citizen Christmas program. The surprise visit by a pint-size Santa Claus, the caroling of Mrs. Mazenga's and Mrs. Jackson's 5m grade classes from ICS, and their presentation of sleighs filled with treats to each person in attendance made the program very special. Thanks to Marie Eng, Faye Kluk, Ruth Miller, Pauline Rusinyak, and Aileen Sturdevant for their help with the serving. The staffenjoyed an evening of laughter and good food at the third annual Christmas party at Nino's in Roseville. High points of the evening included the presentation to Wayne cfa copy of Wayne's Dirty Book by D. Saba and J. Scudder and to Becky cfa can of Chef Boy-Ar-Dee's spaghetti and meatballs. Becky also wants to thank the stafffor the thoughtful gift and for their support during the year. The pages worked extra hours over the holidays to complete the annual inventory of materials, and it is almost finished. They worked very hard to accomplish a lot in a small amount of time and deserve to be commended. COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY EXPENDITURES January 6, 19 81 CLEANING, CONT.
