REPORT
January 8, 1980
The end of the year and the end of the decade seem to have
Ncome faster than any of us at the library expected. December is a
traditionally slow month for libraries because people are so involved
with the holidays. However, the library's circulation is actually up
from last year, and the number of patrons using the library seems to be
higher than usual.
In the Children's Department, Christmas crafts has again
been a popular program. Jo has also been taking many registrations
for preschool story-hour, which will start the week of January 7th.
The pages have been working on an inventory of the juvenile collection
and hope to finish later in the month.
The pages have been working extra hours during the holidays
to finish some special projects, and they have done an outstanding
job. Becky really appreciates the help the pages provide at the library.
Thanks go to Paul Christensen and the bell ringers from
First Lutheran Church and to Catherine Braun and her choir from the
high school for the entertainment they provided at the December senior
citizen program. Thanks also go to Mary Glauner, Pat Jindra, Ruth
Miller, Alberta Mrosla, Sue Murzyn, Pauline Rusinyak, and Aileen
Sturdevant, who helped serve and to all the Friends who baked cookies.
Without your help, the program would not have been such a success.
The library staff enjoyed a night out at the second annual
Christmas party held at Donatelle's on Decembem I4th. Becky wants to
thank the staff for the gifts and to assure them that she will use
them.
Best wishes for the new year from the staff.
