REPORT
December 20, 1977
Thts ts indeed a qutet ttme (as far as circulation ts concerned) at the library.
Now ts the ttme to do a little housecleaning, alphabetizing, and remJndtog people
about accumulated ftnes. This is a btg effort that usually pays for ttself in
the long run. The flnes tend to take care of the extra postage and personnel
ttme.
The programs do go on, though. Jo had 103 ktds for her Christmas story and
craft session. They were ear to ear and we ran out of tables and used the floor
instead. A lot of recognizable Santas were made.
The plumbing has been gtvtng us and 01son's trouble. We're in a constant state
of overflowing totlets. Thts ts not good for the water btll or the plt, abtng
bt11. Maybe some replacoments should be considered.
The CETA employees, at Ttm Yantos suggestion, have been coming over and doing
our snow shoveling in the mornings. We're very appreciative of this and so are
the patrons.
The staff members are delighted with their moat increases. It's like a vote
of confidence.
Ne expended all our book budget this year and are anticipating the additional
amount for 1978. We are Investigating technical books that look appropriate.
It's a Jolly, cheery season wtth so many pleasant people around. We should
gtve spectal attention to Mrs. Grathm's dtsplays tn the exhtbtt cases.
Our Sentor Ctttzens program was well received. Mrs. Smtth and her triple quar-
tette were delightful and everyone had a splendtd ttme. The geodtes were
furnished by the following people:
