We think it looks attractive and it should be very handy. At least it locks up. Matthew did a good job of getting it painted right away. The new paperback rack is pleasing our pocketbook fans. It is much more orderly and the folks can see the titles without handling all of the books. Mitch's men put up our new book shelves very quickly and effluently and the staff worked for two days rearranging the nonfiction books. Now everything is in numerical order and we no longer feel apologetic about our erratic order. We also have another microfilm cabinet. This should take care of our ex- pansion needs for several years. Now we can concentrate on improving our circulation. Someone donated about 250 old book club books for our book sale. We've sold about half of them. People enjoy our book sale bargains. We also have a large backlog of old pocket books to sell next. Thursday we're going back to Saint Catherine's to attend a reunion of our young adult seminar class. Maybe we need further instructions. Becky attended a dinner meeting about the Governors and Presidents Confer- ence on Libraries in lg78. It was about federal funding of public libraries. Mr. Trezza pointed out that Minnesota was very lax in applying for project funds. He also recommended that a state library be re-established. He was critical of the way the state office has been run in the past. Well, it was a busy, happy month and the weather wasn't too bad either.
