HomeMy WebLinkAboutSeptember 9, 1975CO~IA HEIGHTS PUBLIC L~ REPO~P - ~ 9, 1975 The month of August w~s not as busy as June and July except for a couple of notable events° One of the events ~s film day at the library when the staff entertained about 600 young folks for two different programs: t~o showings for el~mentaxy school children and one for young adults° Becky was pleased (though exhausted) ~o note that the young peoples' atteD~lance has about doubled since the first showing of the The staff has made arrangements with Penny at Parkview Villa to furnish collections of books for the residents° Kenny Heintz is the volunteer ~brarian there and together ~e have ~orked out a syst~n of keeping track of the books and fiddling out the folks reading preferences° ~he first group of books has ~]ready been placed in their recreation rOCmo The Parkview Villa inhabitants are also welcome and regular at~ts at the library' s monthly Senior Citizens' programs° They are a lively bunch and brighten our whole perspective on aging. The parochical schools are again delighted to be scheduling rear class visits to the l~hraryo One more school has been added to the list -- Faith Acadzmy -- a Baptist school using old Oakwoodo Tney have an enrollment of 90 students ranging fr~m Kindergarten th=o~ tenth grade° The preschool sto~y hours are again over enrolled: three a week with thirty participant~ r~/stered for each session° WhO said there is a population decline?
