The programs are well subscribed. The story hours--all three have waiting lists. The Senior Citizens are back from the lake and again reading with us. The receipts for the library for the first 8 months through August are $4,090.24. The anticipated receipts for the entire year are $5,200.00. Melsa granted an additional $2,092.10 to the Columbia Heights Public Library. There are 3 new members of the Friends of the Library. These folks were most helpful preparing for the Carnival (gathering prizes) and helping the staff entertain Senior Citizens. The contributions could be put to use for Book Week this fall. The extra help hours have been kept to a minimum since the new Librarian's advent so we are especi~ully appreciative of the adult velunteers that are so faithful. Mrs. Albrecht ~und Mrs. Westerberg have helped us on a very regular basis with refreshments also. Mrs. Nawrocki h~s volunteered to lend us her daughter's doll house for a Christmas exhibit and the staff is considering a place to exhibit ond preserve it. Jo is planning an unusual program for after school during the winter including a visit from a zoo, hobby exhibits and crafts. HOSPIT~T .?
