HomeMy WebLinkAboutMarch 7, 1973Columbia Heights PuBlic Library Report - ~iarch 7, 1973 February~as one day shmrter than last year, but the circulation was just as high . ~ionday there were 927 books out of the library which must be a record far winter time. About 250 folks attended our last !~dnesday afternoon movie, ROBI~ HOOD. There really was room enough for that many children and next month we hope to have two showings. Some comparative shopping has been done on card catalogs and Demco seems to be the least expensive. Pictures and prices are available. The city has decided on IBil Setectrics as standard equipment for city typewriters and we are using one in the office while waiting for our own to be shipped. The staff appreciates the persistence and confidence of the Council and Mr. qorberg in granting raises to the employees. It's wonderful to be wanted. The luncheon with the legislative representatives did not prove very profitable. The Citizens' Council in Hennepin County is preparing a bill to establish a iqetropolitan library syste~ using state aid. The library has slowly been enlargin~ its audio-visual materials and we are hopeful that ~e can find funds to accelerate the purchase of materials and eq~)ipment.
