Report - March 16, 1972
February was even busier than the typical February. One thousand
more books were circulated this February than any other. The juvenile
circulation stays fairly stable as the school libraries improve, but more
adults and non-residents are using our library than ever before.
The Senior Citizens meeting was especially well attended--over fifty
people were here and little dessert was left for the help.
Jo's Wednesday afternoon craft sessions are an unqualified success.
Every week more people find out about them.
The mothers of the pre-school story hour groups have been making
flannel graphs for their little folks and next month will be making flowers
and birds to decorate the children's room for our summer Reading Program
which has a flower garden theme with busy bee readers. The flu seems to
have subsided and the little people are all back at story hour.
The Monday evening Art Club had a pot luck supper last week.' ~We're
expecting an art exhibit from them soon.
Library Week is in the middle ef April. Immaculate Conception School
is lending us some fifth grade folks to put on a play. They will be
dressed as book charae~ers--Winnie the Pooh, Curious George, Pippi Long-
~tocking. etc.--and advertise their specialties. The first through third
graders and the public will be invited to six different per'formances. There
will alsa be an art exhibit for elementary and high school folks.
The eighth grade country prajeet is nearly over--Mr. LeBlanc has been
helping out evenings and is a grand mixture of firmness and humor'. Ue
think we will make it til Easter~
