The circulation for January was up several hundred from last year in spite of the dreadfully cold weather or maybe because of it. The projected amount of income from ~LSA this year is somewhat less than last year's, but still considerably more than the $900 that the council provided in the receipts. It supposedly will be about $3,360.00. Last year's income was close to $3,600.00. Some of the extra expenditures (such as additional book shelves) made last year were because they would have been needed in 1972, but with the added income in 1971 it was not necessary to budget for them in 1972. Because of an oversight, the specifications for the janitor did not include buffing the tiled floor in the library. It seemed that we might have to do our own buffing. But the PR representitive from the cleaning service came out and every- thing ~eems to be straightened out at least for now. The boy who has been doing the regular cleaning has been doing a very responsible job. The boiler room is cleaner than it has ever been, but still not an ideal pathway to the basement meeting room. The eighth grade country project is on so we expect to have Mr. LeBlanc helping us in the evenings. His steadying influence is certainly welcome. Books & Magazines: The Bookman Frederick Ungar Pub.
