Report - Decembe~ 14, 1971
Even December, so far, this yea~ has been busier than usual.
While we're looking forwar~ to a period of rejuvenation and repair
we'll keep busy helping folks with projects.
The Christmas craft program seemed to be a success. People are
looking forward to next year already.
The projections for the pre-school story hours seem to be that the
registrations will be down slightly which will make for much less
unwieldy groups. Thirty is really too many three and four year olds
at a time and this time we hope to hold it to around twenty.
The f~rst grade from ICS came yesterday for a Christmas program
and au introduction to the library. After New Years, they will be
coming regularly for stories and books.
A Christmas program is scheduled for December 21st ~t l:O0o
We expect a large crowd to see the puppet shows and films.
The Senior Citizens are such a delight to have. They are so
appreciative that one feels like a hero at least with them for a day.
There were about fifty here this month and how they could eat the
goodies the library workers provided for them!
Some one upstairs is scheduling the snow falls at an appropriate
time so that they come on the days the boy comes to work. I wish we
could count on this indefinitely. Mark has been doing a fine job for
us this year, taking care of his regular responsibilities without
coaching.
Our book orders have been extra slow in coming in this fall so
maybe we'll have to carry over some of the invoices for January.
January! That's a new year. I wonder what new ideas we can
come up with for 1972. Any way, Happy Holidays.
