Report - August, 1971
Well, the summer has settled into a more comfortable routine. Now
we are having fifty or sixty in story hour rather than one hundred and
thirty. We certainly wonder how we managed one hundred and thirty.
The senior citizens' gathering was well attended this month, People
are back from vacation and the staff ~as scrounging for chairs down in
the basement.
Miss Jo has scheduled three puppet shows for this fall, one on a
Wednesday evening soon after school starts, The puppeteers' interest is
unflagging enough so that it is a problem to let everyone take part.
Our book sale of used and donated books is to be this Friday, the 209,
Some interest has been shown and we are arranging for pours. We hoDe to
dispose of thes~ extra books.
The Service Master cleaning company is going to come this Saturday
and clean the carpets and furnibure in the adult room. Their price for
cleaning both this year is the same as that for cleaning just the carpet
two years ago.
One of these days we are going to have to tackle a little touch-up
painting around the library. An old clothes day will be p~o~laLmed and
the staff will pitch in.
