HomeMy WebLinkAboutOctober 5, 1976COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT OCTOBER 5, 1976 The turn out at the Open House was gratifying. The staff threw themselves whole-heartedly into the project. Some of our newest staff members showed themselves to be very poised and talented. Mr. Norberg and Mrs. Miller deserve Oscars for their performances. It was a whole group production and we were thankful to everyone who helped. Becky's exhibit truly emphasized the usefulness of the facilities and showed the progress the library and community !~3ve made. A special thanks to the Friends of the Library for their wonderful goodies. Mrs. Westerberg was helping Becky with the refreshments and Mrs. Schlaeger was pouring and helping with the cleanup. We're hopeful there will be some good pictures in the Sun this week as Sue Amos was there covering the event. It was a whole team effort. We are getting a late start this year with the pre-school story hour as the folks were included in an August program here, but there is a full regis- tration for the three sessions and today was the first session. We are trying to make arrangements to have the east side of the library painted during the MEA recess. It seems irrational to have it left in this condition over the winter. Rosehill Nursery is sending estimates for plantings on the west front of the library. A small maple and some low evergreens are the anticipated growth desired. It is our feeling that the library is going well with some new young faces. COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY EXPENDITURES OCTOBER 5, 1976 Books & Magazines #1365 Arno Press Inc.
