Report for Sept. 7, 1976
One of the best attractions we've had at the library
so far, is the movie, RO[~N ?!OOD. It was shown six
times during the third week in August and there were
over 1200 viewers. It seems fmlks are really looking
forward to school with notiiing to do in August.
The~pre-school story and craft time was al se well
attended. The registrations had to be closed be-
cause of an overflow.
MacDonald's have furnished us with 125 coupons for
junior folks reading over 30 books and beginners
reading over 50 books. These coupons furnish a ham-
berger, french fries a~d a Coce. We really appreciate
their cooperation. These are the most rewards we have
ever furnished as prized for the reading club.
The library is planning an open house for September
29th. At 7:30 there will be a program for the adults
upstairs and a pu.Dpet ~how and f~.lmstrip for the
children downstairs. These programs will not last
over an hour. The Board is sending special invita-
tions to folks who have made notable contributions to
the i ibrary.
We are hoping the FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY will please
contribute cookies or bars for the occasion and if
they ca, please contact one of the staff ~the library
788-3924.
The Council wishes to meet with the librarian and rep-
resentatives of the Board on September 16th to discuss
next year's budget.
The Sun Newspaper is doing an especially good job of
covering activities at the library. Also the news-
letter helps to keep people aware.
