RE?O~T May - June
The circulation report is amazing:
For the month of June 8571 books were circulated.
~}{~ This is a raise of 3/48/* fryer a year a~o.
Almost 300 students have enrolled in the summer
reading program. The students seem to be eb~ll inter-
ested in spite of knowing that there are no material
compensations.
The book budget has been practically exhausted.
This was intentional since we wanted ~!1 we could offer
for the increased su.~er readers.
The new shelves were added Memorial Day. This
relieves some of the shelf congestion. For nex% year
it would be interesting to consider narrow shelves
for the pocket books and a book return. Also think
over the possibility of a book copier.
The extra sa]reties paid out for this year
so far is $1,340.60. For this s~me period last year
1,075.12 w~s used. The circulation for the first
six months this ~r is 41,184 and for last year
it was 25,638 for the first six months.
1900 new books have been catalogfied so far this
year with about 100 more to c~talogue.
270 new subscribers have been added since the
first of June and ~ 1,027 since J~nuary first.
