CIRCULATION RE? ORT
Circulation in the month of Jsnusry totalled 3729, an increase of
651 o~zer December of 1960. The increase would have been more marked,
except for the fact that school children were on vacation until the
9th of Janoary--However, I sm encouraged by the fact that our adult
circulation showed an increase even over November which was one of our
recent months which gave us top circolation figures. Total adult
circulation la Jsnuary came to 613, compared with _=6~= in November.
February, a short month, gave us a tots]_ of 3598. In this month, too,
the figures on adult readi~ are ~couraging. Adults withdrew a total
of 560 'ccoks, almost equalling our l~ovemher total in spite of the
shortness of the month.
%~The severe cold during parts of January and February could account for
part of the drom in circulationt~bii~d to children. I have observed
that far fewer..C~ildren frequentAin"a per_~od of severe cold or in
stormy weather. Some of our very avid readers walk miles In bad weather
as well as in good, but they are the exception not the rule.
