NOVEMBER CIRCULATION REPORT
For the month of November, Columbia Heights Public Library circulated a total of 4,371
books and magazines. These circulation figures included: Adult non-fiction 708
Adult fiction 565
Junior fiction 965
Junior non-fiction 709
Easy books 1708
Total 4655
This represents an increase of 387 books over October's figures.
October's figures are as follows:
Adult non-fiction 590
Adult fiction 641
Junior fiction 773
Junior non-fiction 535
Easy books 1729
Total 4268
Our juniors read 192 more books in November than they did in October.
Adults increased their book circulation by 42.
Our easy book readers read 21 less books in November than they did in October.
In October, both adult and juvenile periodicals totalled 61.
In November, that figure increased to 110. In October, most of the periodicals went to juvenile
borrowers. In November, the 110 magazines were just about evenly divided, 57 of them having
been given out to children and 53 to adults.

This represents an increase of 387 books over October's figures.
in December, largely because of the two-week vacation period which the schools
enjoyed during the latter part of the mo~th, the circulation fell to a total
of 31'~8. We observed a decrease in both adult and juvenile reading. However, tLe
decrease in juvenile reading was more marked because juvenile borrowers constitute
the major port,.on of our reading public at a~D· time of the year.
