BEING A RESOLUTION AlPROVING APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS TO
THE COLUMBIA HEIGH'I~ ECONOMIC DEVI~OPMENT AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the City has, by the adoption of Resolution No. 96-01 (enabling resolution),
duly created an Economic Development authority (EDA) for the City of Columbia Heights
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 469 (Act), and
WHEREAS, the Enabl~ Resolution provides that the Board of Commissioners of the
EDA consist of seven n~mbers, at least two, but not more than five, of whom must be members
of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, by City Council action of May 78, 1996, the City Council approved the
Mayor's appointment of Don Jolly to fill the unexpired term of Don Murzyn, Jr., with said term to
expire January 8, 1998, and
WHEREAS, by City Council action of January 12, 1998, the City Council approved the
Mayor's appointment of Richard Dustin to a six year term co~ January 9, 1998 and
expiring January 8, 2004, and
WHEREAS, by Re~lution 9603, the Mayor and City Council appointed Richard Dustin
to an initial term expiring January 8, 1999, and
WHEREAS, there is a discrepancy and admini~rative error in the previous appointment
of Richard Dustin w a six F, ar tetm expiring in 2004, and

Notwitk~ndi~g the above designation of term, the term of Commissio~ WF. koff and Jolly,
who are moJnbers of the City Cotmcil, shall coincide with their respective term of otaz as a
Councfi member.
THEREFORE, BE IT RE~OL~ that the City Com~ hereby approves the
appointmere of Julienne Wyckofi~ Robert Ruettimann and Don Jolly to the Columbia Heights
Resolution 99-

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall consider appointment and the City
Council shall consider approval thereof by resolution of said appointment to the vacancy on
the EDA created by the general election for the unexpired term ending January 8, 2003, with said
approval to be umlenak~ at such time u a City Counct appointment is approved for the Council
vacancy.
